In the wake of playing only five minutes in a blowout loss at Syracuse, the 6-foot-2 Chandler nearly transferred from Rutgers after last season. But he elected to stay after mending fences with Hill. A source close to Chandler said he stayed primarily because of his relationship with Rosario. A number of schools are willing to take Chandler right now, although he would have to sit out a year per NCAA transfer regulations.
“University of Maryland-Eastern Shore, University of Tennessee-Chattanooga, University of North Carolina-Central and North Carolina A&T already offered,” said Alif Muhammad of the Alif Muhammad NIA School in Newark, an adviser to Chandler. “They’ll take him.”
