New day, new story on Lance Stephenson.

The news today is that Lance Stephenson Sr. told USA Today that his son had narrowed his choices to Arizona and Maryland.

“He wants to clear his name before he makes a decision,” the father told the paper.

Stephenson has been charged with sexual assault and the case was adjourned to June 29.

Stephenson’s lawyer, Alberto Ebanks, said he is trying to get the case dismissed, but there is no new news on that front.

A source at Arizona said the Wildcats were trying to get Stephenson out for an official visit.

Memphis is still trying to remain involved with Stephenson and Latavious Williams told me yesterday that if he ends up at Memphis, he would like Stephenson to join him.

Another source told me the other day that Lance told one coach he would announce between Maryland and Memphis.

    So there you have it.

If the case is resolved soon, a college decision could be forthcoming shortly thereafter.

If the case drags out over the summer, a college choice could also.

“He’s going to continue to work out and take care of his schooling,” Lance Sr. told USA Today.
