Dwayne Bacon is one of the top point guards in the Class of 2015 and is already piling up the offers.

A 6-foot-7 guard from Lakeland (Fla.) McKeel Academy, Bacon holds offers from Florida State, Virginia Tech, Baylor, South Florida, Central Florida, Georgia Southern and Old Dominion.

Schools like Michigan, Florida, Clemson, Virginia and Tennessee are also showing interest.

Bacon went for 34 points Friday night in a 63-55 win over Lakeland Christian in the Florida 3A District 7 finals.

“I knew that if we lost it would have been all on me,” he said.
Those words might be surprising to hear coming out of a sophomore’s mouth, but in this case, it fits completely. Bacon did indeed put on a show for McKeel Academy, displaying his full arsenal with a 15-point first quarter and a 10-point fourth quarter that put the game out of reach in the end.

“Dwayne just keeps getting better and better with every game,” McKeel coach Terry Jenkins said. “The more games he plays, the better he gets. It is that simple. The games are only going to get harder as we get into regionals, and he will continue to step up for the team like he always has.”
