Rodney Miller, a 6-foot-11 2016 big man from Oak Hill Academy (VA), committed to Miami on Monday.

UConn, Seton Hall, Georgia Tech, Kansas, Florida, Duke, Indiana, Purdue, Wake Forest, Virginia, Tennessee, Tulsa and Stanford were also involved to various degrees.

“Rodney is a true center who can score inside with both hands,” Oak Hill coach Steve Smith said. “He is a real presence in the lane area on both ends of the floor and a great rebounder.”

A captain at Oak Hill, Miller is a native of Laurelton, N.Y., which is in Queens. His father, Rodney Sr., said his son has a 4.0 GPA.

Miller is the first 2016 commit for head coach Jim Larranaga and staff.
