Jean Marc Christ Koumadje, a 7-foot-4 native of Chad whose stock took off this July, has named a top three list of schools and will also remain at Montverde (FL) Academy for his senior season.
Koumadje’s top three is Florida State, UConn and UCLA, and he plans to visit all three, as well as SMU and Houston, his mentor, Suliemon Holman, told SNY.tv.
“Florida State is the only [visit] that we have committed [Sept. 5-6],” Holman said. “And UConn. UConn we’re still working out the dates. He doesn’t want to take any visits until September. He’s just doing kids stuff the rest of the summer. He’s going to take his five visits.”
The visits will spread across September and October and Koumadje doesn’t plan on committing until he takes all five visits.
“He’s not going to commit to any of the schools that he goes to unless someone just blows him away,” Holman said.
Koumadje did recently visit Georgia Tech, but they are not at the top of his list.
“It was good,” Koumadje said of the visit. “They showed me all around the campus, the classrooms.”
After initially opting to transfer to Village Christian (CA), Koumadje and 6-11 teammate Ifeanyi Umerzuki will remain at Montverde and play for coach Kevin Boyle, whose team features LSU-bound forward Ben Simmons and won the Dick’s Sporting Goods High School National Tournament.
