Amile Jefferson to Decide 'Very Soon'

Amile Jefferson is expected to make a decision “very soon” following his weekend official visit to Duke, his head coach told SNY.tv.

“He enjoyed his Duke trip,” Jason Polykoff of Philly Friends Central said by text. “He doesn’t have an official timetable but he’s ready to make a decision very soon.”

The 6-foot-8 Jefferson is also considering Kentucky, N.C. State, Ohio State and Villanova.

“He’ll go take a look at Duke for a visit and from there he’s going to sit down and make his decision shortly after that,” Jefferson’s father, Malcolm Musgrove, told SNY.tv prior to the visit.

The Blue Devils are also hosted 6-foot-6 wing Shabazz Muhammad last weekend during the North Carolina game. Muhammad is considering Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, UCLA, UNLV and Arizona and has said he likely won’t announce until April.

Both players will compete in the McDonald’s All-American Game March 28 in Chicago.

I think Vereen was a great sign by the Giants and can see him having a great season. Manning I expect a huge year, guy is a hall of famer in my opinion I expect big things for the offensive side of the ball

Think the advantage here is - if the line is as "good" as last season- having an outlet valve in the backfield can make things easier for the oline.  Figure that Beckham is going to be doubled this year.  Until he proves otherwise - not sure Cruz will be the same player.  That means other players will need to step up.  Randle.....Vareen....Tight End du jour......

All these fluff articles are great, they pass the time until things really start moving.  But we all know, this season will hinge on the OLine's ability to run-block, and the DLine's ability to stop the run.

@Michael Frias and the DLine's ability to get a pass rush.. throw in Safety inexperience.. I think the O will approach top 5 with the addition of Vereen, Cruz back and more familiarity with McAdoo's scheme.. Defense is the big ??? for me.. I expect a lot of high scoring games.
