Andre Adams, a 6-foot-9 forward from Tolleson, Ariz., and Bradenton (FL) IMG Academy, has committed to Arizona State in the Class of 2015.
Texas, Kansas State, Missouri and San Diego State were also involved.
Adams tore his ACL in mid-November and hasn’t played an organized game since then, IMG coach John Mahoney told SNY.tv.
“He was playing on the wing for us in the offense,” Mahoney told SNY.tv. “He has a high motor, ran the floor well, was getting to shoot the ball well. I think he has a upside though.”
Adams joins JUCO standouts Andre Spight, Obi Oleka and Maurice O’Field for head coach Bobby Hurley. Shannon Evans and Torian Graham will sit out this year due to transfer regulations.
“Andre is an elite shot-blocker and rebounder with a high motor,” his AAU coach, Gino Crump of the Arizona Magic, told SNY.tv. “He runs the floor and can stretch the floor with his jumper. Beyond his post work, he can face up and he is a great passer.”
