Aquille Carr Released by D-League Team

Aquille Carr was waived Friday by the Delaware 87ers, the NBA D-League affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers.

The 5-foot-6 Carr was averaging 10.7  points and 1.9 assists for Delaware.

Carr was selected by Delaware  with the ninth pick of the third round in the 2013 NBA Development League Draft.

He was one of three NBA Draft-eligible players playing this season in the NBA Development League and one of two players to play this season in the NBADL without having played in college.

The move is obviously a major blow to the one-time Seton Hall pledge whose goal was to eventually make the NBA.

Reached via text, Carr’s now-former agent, Johnny Foster, told, that he and Carr parted ways a week and a half ago.

“I don’t know what his next move is, but I wish him the best of luck,” Foster said.

Previously, Foster had said Carr’s goal was to reach the NBA.

“Yeah, that’s his goal, man,” Foster told when Carr was drafted in November. “You know how that is. That’s any players goal, man, to try to do that so that’s one of his main goals.”
