Auburn Continues Recruiting Roll With Addition of 7-Footer Trayvon Reed

Coming of his show-cause penalty, Auburn coach Bruce Pearl continued his tremendous recruiting roll Thursday with the addition of former Maryland big man Trayvon Reed for this coming season.

The 7-foot-1 Reed is headed to the SEC school and will reportedly suit up beginning in the second semester after spending the first semester at Elevate Prep School in Delray Beach, Fla., according to Evan Daniels of Scout.com.

Reed wasn’t allowed to enroll at Maryland following his arrest for second-degree assault, second degree assault of a police officer, theft under $100 and resisting arrest.

Ranked by 247Sports as the No. 9 center and No. 77 prospect in the 2014 class, Reed is the latest addition to Pearl’s recruiting haul.

Auburn previously added 6-6 2015 wing Danjel Purifoy and 6-8 2015 power forward Horace Spencerboth 4-stars — as well as 3-star junior college shooting guard T.J. Dunans.

Auburn also has a commitment from Mike Cohen, a 5-10 rising junior guard at Bishop Eustace in New Jersey, who is a close friend of Spencer’s.
