“Louisville is where I will be going,” Behanan said, according to the Courier Journal. “I felt so comfortable with the players and the coaches and my family really liked the environment. It was the best place for me.”
The 6-foot-8, 250-pound Behanan is the No. 5 power forward in the Class of 2011, per Rivals.
After visiting Louisville this past weekend, he chose the Cardinals over North Carolina, Kentucky, Ohio State and West Virginia.
Asked about why he chose Louisville over in-state rival Kentucky, Behanan told the Courier-Journal:
“They took me around their facilities and sat me down and coach [John Calipari] said he really wanted me. He was a nice guy; I just liked Louisville better.
“I felt more comfortable there. Not to down any organization or anything like that, I just felt more comfortable at Louisville.”
Behanan joins Chicago’s Wayne Blackshear and Jeffersontown (Ky.) center Zach Price in Louisville’s 2011 recruiting class.
Behanan also told the Courier-Journal he will try and recruit the duo of Quincy Miller and Deuce Bello, who also visited this weekend.
“That’s what we’re working on now,” Behanan told the paper. “We can be unstoppable. If we can get Quincy and Deuce we can be unstoppable, but even with just Wayne Blackshear and Zach Price we’re going to be really good.”
Bello said earlier today in an interview that he and Miller enjoyed their visit to Louisville and may also visit Baylor.
