James Blackmon Jr., a 6-foot-3 shooting guard from Marion (IN) High, has decommitted from Indiana, according to multiple reports.
“He feels like he needs to be 100 percent sure,” his father, former Kentucky player James Blackmon Sr., told Kyle Neddenriep of the Indianapolis Star.
Blackmon Jr. played exceptionally well at the recent Nike Global Challenge in Washington, D.C. He committed prior to his freshman year of high school and was Indiana’s lone commit for 2014.
He will reportedly still consider Indiana but is also planning on signing in the fall, meaning he could have somewhere else in mind.
“It won’t take until the spring,” he told the Indy Star.
