James Blackmon has been receiving countless calls from schools all over the country after his decommitment from Indiana.
The call that perhaps was most notable in the Blackmon household was from the University of Kentucky, who offered Blackmon on Friday afternoon. Blackmon’s father, James Blackmon Sr., played at Kentucky, so one would think that UK is in the mix now for the Indiana basketball star.
“I’ve been talking to Kentucky, so yes, they have offered me,” Blackmon told SNY.tv, confirming the offer.
James Blackmon Sr. told the Courier-Journal he’s “pretty sure” his son will want to take an official visit to Kentucky, but still must discuss it with his son.
The Courier-Journal reported Blackmon holds offers from Kentucky, Indiana, N.C. State, UCLA, Michigan State, Florida State, Oklahoma State, Memphis, Florida, UConn, Purdue, Minn and Marquette.
Blackmon, one of the top players in the Class of 2014, says that he will be taking his time on the decision.
“I’m just going to take my time,” Blackmon said. “I’m going to see what school fits me the best, and I will see where it goes. I’m still watching Indiana, so I’m just going to keep the good relationship with Coach [Tom] Crean, thats real important.”
Despite what many would think, Blackmon still considers Indiana a front runner.
“They’re the leader right now,” Blackmon said.
