Buffalo has given coach Bobby Hurley a contract extension through the 2018-19 season, sources told SNY.tv.
The school is expected to announce the news later Tuesday morning.
In March 2013, Hurley, 43, initially signed a five-year deal through 2017-18.
In his first season as a head coach, Hurley led the Bulls to a 19-10 record, 13-5 in the Mid-American Conference.
Prior to that, Hurley spent three seasons as an assistant under his brother Dan, two at Wagner College and one at Rhode Island.
Hurley has a strong incoming freshmen class that features guards Lamonte Bearden, Mory Diane and Bobby Frasco and forward Ikenna Smart.
The elder son of Naismith Hall of Fame coach Bob Hurley of Jersey City (N.J.) St. Anthony, Bobby led Duke to back-to-back NCAA championships in 1991 and ’92 and was the No. 7 pick in the 1993 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings.
