Bullock to Providence

Rodney Bullock, a 6-foot-7, 215-pound power forward from Hampton (Va.) Kecoughtan, has verbally committed to Providence.

Bullock told SNY.tv he chose the Friars over Clemson, Xavier and Old Dominion.

“I think it fits my style of play and I’m going to bring lots of versatility,” he said.

Bullock, who averaged about 19 points and 9 rebounds last season, is ranked the No. 30 power forward in the Class of 2013 by Rivals.com.

“He’s a four guy who can do a lot of three things,” said his high school coach, Ivan Thomas. “He’s a multidimensional player. He can guard maybe a two, three and four and can play a two, three and four at times. He’s a 6-7 kid who can do a lot of things.”

BTW, anybody else notice how empty the stadium was in Charlotte last week?  Carolina fans can be crazy (think basketball).  Surprised me that their team is not better supported.

Will be interesting to see how many people show up at Met Life on Sunday.  Weather is supposed to be unseasonably warm.  It likely will be pretty empty too.

Spies in Cleveland tell mell me town has already written off Browns expecting new QB in draft and wholesale changes to coaching staff under HC.  Lost 5 in a row.  They close with two on road so they're done playing at home.  If I'm the HC looking for a franchise QB in the draft playing the role of road dog to close it out, I might play the second stringers more than usual to, um, see what we got as they say.  Browns could end up with top 5 pick if they go 0-2.  Every win probably costs them two or three spots which is significant for a team looking for a franchise QB with guys like Bridgewater and Manzell up at the top.  Just sayin . . .

Just saw on ganggreennation. sbn mock draft has us taking a olb. While i have been asking for  a pass rush OLB for years , if we go defense with mike evans still on the board im gonna lose it lol

I'd give the defense a lot higher than the C. They made some key stops to keep the Jets in the game and really only had one lapse (the Williams screen TD) the entire game. Also, Nick Folk's career long FG is 56 yards, Bassett.

"Also, the poorly executed on-side kick was a head scratcher."

oh, that was an on-side kick? ah, well then, OK, yeah.

"Don’t look at the points totals.  One touchdown came off the pick six.  The other as a result of the punt block."

Jets are 10th worst in points allowed! Jets are 10th worst in points allowed!

Coaching Grade B:

MM gets an A+ for a great plan on offense that had the Panthers top ranked D exposed on several plays that our QB was unable to capitalize on.

Rex/DT get a B- for too many risky calls on D that invariably cost the team.

Kotwica gets a B+ for the special teams plans despite the blocked kick.

HC Rex gets a C- for not making sure the ST's had better blocking personnel to use since the personal protector was being replaced bu a gunner.

@greggreen

Mike Evans is NOT THAT GOOD. The guy is slow and couldn't get open against decent college CB's. Gimme Watkins or Lee in the first round or take the OLB like the mock.

"Jets are 10th worst in points allowed! Jets are 10th worst in points allowed!"

And they are 12th (and falling) in overall Defense.......I guess "Buddy's Defensive Manual' is losing it's grip on the NFL !!

FIRE REX RYAN NOW !!!!!

@a57se special teams gets a B+ despite blocked kick but Rex takes the hit with a C- for not double checking with the guy who got a B+?

Coaching B-

Geno D missed a wide open Holmes 3 or 4 times.

Defense C- I think Williams is still running. Reed doesn't belong as a starter.

Special teams D ..that has to be the worst on side kick attempt I have ever seen.

Offense Line D Winters will allow someone to kill whatever qb is back there eventually.. Brick is no longer a Elite LT...gets beat every week.

@a57se @greggreen He's not slow. No, he doesn't run a 40 like Stephen Hill (see where falling in love with speed got us there), but he's got enough gas to get open downfield, and when you're that physical with great hands, you don't have to be the fastest guy in the league to be immensely successful. Ask Brandon Marshall. Evans is an animal.

@a57se @greggreen wont make my informed opinion until after the season when i start doing my "research". But for now ill take your word that hes overrated. id like to get a WR and a TE plus a OLB in the first 3 rounds. ( these new comment format is terrible right? i had to actually look back in this article and look for my own comment to see if anyone replyed. i mean come on)

@a57se This is almost as good as your argument the other day about Cousins getting a 2nd and how you don't trust what the media says specifically mentioning NFL.com and then proceeding to link an article from Nfl.com to "prove" your point about Cousins not being able to fetch a 2nd.

@Johnsbodybyvi Ledo @a57se  Don't listen to Dan Dierdorf -- Ed Reed did not take the wrong angle on Williams. Had Milliner sealed the sideline as he was supposed to, Reed was in the right spot for a cutback. If Reed takes a wider angle and Milliner does his job, Reed would be in an embarrassing position of overrunning Williams.
