D.J. Foreman Hearing from Kentucky & Many Other Schools

D.J. ForemanD.J. Foreman’s life has changed dramatically since he played in the Boo Williams Nike EYBL stop this past weekend.

“It’s been crazy,” Foreman told SNY.tv. “My dad told me about all these schools that called. I was trying to take a nap earlier today and I couldn’t even sleep.”

The 6-foot-9, 220-pound 2014 forward from Spring Valley, N.Y., impressed coaches while helping Boo Williams go 5-0 this past weekend. He tallied 30 points on 13-for-18 shooting and added seven rebounds in Sunday’s two games. The Boo Williams team is 8-1 overall in the EYBL.

“He’s very good,” one high-major assistant coach told SNY.tv. “He has high-major potential. He’s a multi-dimensional skilled four man. He has great size, vision and athleticism.”

Foreman, who attends Massanutten (Va.) Military Academy, holds offers from Rhode Island, Providence, Minnesota, Western Kentucky, UAB, Iowa State, Kent State and James Madison, according to his advisor, Mike Moore.

Kentucky, Virginia, Iowa, Temple, Miami and Stanford have shown interest, with Kentucky assistant Orlando Antigua calling Moore on Tuesday.

“He loves him,” Moore said of Antigua. “He absolutely loves him. He feels he has a high motor, can defend and play multiple positions and that’s very intriguing. He’s looking for him for ’14.”

Foreman previously attended Don Bosco Prep, St. Raymond’s in The Bronx and Spring Valley High before going to Massanutten before the 2011-12 school year.

He is considering reclassifying to the Class of 2013, meaning he would be on a college campus in the fall, but he said he prefers to stay at Massanutten until 2014.

“I’m probably leaning more towards 2014,” Foreman said. “I feel like a lot of colleges have seen me but I need to work on my jump shot before I get to college. I want to be a complete player going into college.”

Two schools that appear to have an early edge with Foreman are Rhode Island and Minnesota.

Dwayne Foreman, D.J.’s father, said he may visit Rhode Island by himself this weekend while D.J. takes the SAT.

“Rhode Island is loaded next year,” Moore said. “Dan Hurley is the coach and he’s one of the best developers in the business.”

Meantime, Moore is friendly with Minnesota assistant Kimani Young from their New York days, and Foreman may take a trip to the Big 10 school during the Nike EYBL stop in Minneapolis May 24-27.

While some schools are interested in Foreman for 2013 or ’14, others (like Kentucky and Alabama) could only take him in ’14.

“A tough decision has to be made and we feel he’ll be fine with whatever decision he makes because he has some good options,” Moore said of the reclassifying option.

Said D.J. Foreman: “I don’t really have a dream school. Wherever I can have a good college career and get a good education is the school I want to go to.”

"Second, the Jets could trade Wilkerson if the team somehow paint themselves into a corner and are essentially forced to draft Leonard Williams with the sixth pick."

I would not be against this move if the scenario is in play with Jets at 6th pick overall.

He's "not considered a suspect" just providing them with information.

Read the whole article Bent...apparently his agent has hired a private investigator to prove to the police that La'el wasn't involved...

NFL teams want to know if the womans' child is La'els...

@a57se "We have identified where La'el was the day the lady was murdered to establish he was nowhere around," Boren told ESPN. "We have offered to give names, witnesses who can vouch for his whereabouts that day until after the woman's body was discovered. We believe that when [police] have verified that information, that they will rule him out as a suspect in the homicide, just as I believe he should be."

This means that Collins has NOT been ruled out as a suspect yet...at least according to his agent...

@a57se Lol. Edited your comment to act like I'm responding something else? Grow up, Peter Pan.

Its because the deal is not done that teams are interested. Maccagnan has been thorough throughout this process. You have to wait to see if Mo becomes an expendable piece if Williams is the best pick at 6 and no one will will trade with us so we can move down. It makes Mo less desireable in a trade if hes locked into a lucrative deal before the draft. Never take an option off the table, but when it is all said and done Mo will be locked up for the next 5 years.

I knew it, I've been saying it for months, the Jets will package a deal for the 1st pick overall, if you trade Mo, I wouldn't be happy with a #2 pick, but I'll gladly take this year's #1 and next year's #1, we can try with Winston this year and if he's Jamarcus Russel take the best QB next year.

@Pablo Bruno You think you are getting the 1st overall pick in this draft and another number #1 for Mo?

BDarc23
BDarc23

@Pablo Bruno @BDarc23 No team is giving up the #1 overall pick and the next years 1st rounder (also likely a high pick) for Mo Wilkerson. There is just no way. They could just draft Leonard Williams themselves.

@BDarc23 @Pablo Bruno  Leonard Williams as promising as he may be is no established vet, he can turn out to be a bust, no guarantees, with Mo you already know your're getting production.

Because Mo Wilkerson has not signed yet, other teams will make better offers to move up if L. Williams is available with the 6th pick...and we should take L. Williams unless we get a lot for trading down.

Can he play the edge?  L. Williams's time in the 40 is 4.97 and his time for the 3 cone drill is 7.59.

@J. Smooth @SofarSogood Thanks.  I used the wrong term.  So if we did select L. Williams, we would probably be using more 4-3 defenses.

There have been many "behind closed doors" soccer matches over the years, but has this been seen before in US sports?

No, it's actually the same number of fans as the Yankees get, it just seems like more at Yankees stadium because they're all packed such a tiny space.

Well, there's plenty of room for extra seats because the field area is so much smaller than usual.

@Bent @BDarc23 @J. Smooth There is a short right field porch but the rest of the outfield is actually quite large 385 and 399 to left and right center, 408 to Center

@a57se @J. Smooth Still think he would have made an interesting Sam, or even a Will.

He was more of a cross between a LB, and a safety with the size of an end, but not the strength.

Think of how shallow he could have played with his height.

QBs would hate to have to drop the ball over his reach.

I heard that Kraft used Hernandez for a couple of personal hits.  Promised the kid that he had a 100 foot thick money shield.  Then Hernandez got stupid and careless, so Kraft had to throw him under the rug.

@Pete 57 Does Goodall know there's a tape of them bringing the balls into the locked bathroom?

I really wouldn't want some old guy bringing my balls with him in the bathroom anyway.

Must be a long walk to the field there.

@Steven Windeler Old guys are experienced with balls, though. If anyone knows how to care for them, it's an old guy.
