Two weeks after landing center Tyler Davis, Texas A&M scored another huge commitment Sunday when 6-8 Plano (TX) West power forward D.J. Hogg also committed to the school.

“I am very excited and blessed to say I will be attending to the University of Texas A&M,” he Tweeted.

Hogg is ranked the No. 8 power forward in the nation by 247Sports.com composite rankings.

A strong shooter who can also finish at the rim, Hogg had trimmed his list to UCLA, Arizona, Baylor, Texas A&M, Texas and Oklahoma State. Baylor had the been sexy pick for a while.

He and Davis had long talked of ending up at the same school and now give coach Billy Kennedy two premier frontcourt players going forward.

“I think the biggest thing is the chemistry I have with D.J.,” Davis told SNY.tv. “As great a shooter as he is, it helps that I can find him when he’s open anywhere on the court. Whether that’s cutting to the basket or finding him for an open 3. Every time he shoots the ball I believe it’s going in and that’s the amount of confidence I have in him.

“He’s also great at feeding me in the post and finding me in the pick-and-roll. He just makes the game so much easier for me because I know where he is at all times and we know how to get each other in positions for success on the court. I think we can be a lethal duo.. We will only get better together this years at Plano West.”
