Duke Recruiting Tyus Battle; Will Visit Cuse, Villanova & UConn

Tyus BattleDuke is the latest school to jump into the Tyus Battle Sweepstakes.

Gary Battle said he has been talking regularly with Duke associate head coach Steve Wojciechowski about his son, a 6-foot-5 guard from Gladstone (N.J.) Gill St. Bernard’s ranked No. 11 in the Class of 2016 by Rivals.

“Speaking to Duke pretty often now,” Gary told SNY.tv. “They’ve seen him in AAU. However, they plan to come and watch [his high school team play].”

After telling SNY.tv last week that Tyus will likely visit Syracuse for the Duke game Feb. 1, Gary confirmed that his son will “definitely” make that trip. Syracuse is also expected to host 2015 Pope John forward Moustapha Diagne for the Duke game.

In addition to the Syracuse and Ohio State visits (March 9), Tyus will “definitely get on campus” at Villanova and UConn by the spring, his dad said.
