Duke will be in the New York area later this week for the Preseason NIT at Madison Square Garden, and they may do some recruiting while in the region.

Roselle (N.J.) Catholic coach Dave Boff told SNY.tv that Duke special assistant Jon Scheyer had expressed interest in 2015 guard Isaiah Briscoe and 2015 forward Chris Silva.

“They’re up at the Garden this week and they might stop in on Tuesday for an open gym,” Boff said. “[Scheyer] was going to try and bring Coach [K]. He said he would let me know today or tomorrow. If they can’t make it on Tuesday they have a window of a six-day break in mid-December.”

Duke just signed the No. 1 recruiting class in 2014 — highlighted by Tyus Jones, Jahlil Okafor, Justise Winslow and Grayson Allen.

Several of those players could be one-and-done, with Okafor, Jones and Winslow projected as the Nos. 1, 11 and 15 players in the 2015 NBA Draft by Draft Express.

So it stands to reason that Duke is already looking ahead to 2015 and beyond.

“[Scheyer] said it was based on the guys that they signed,” Boff said. “They’re waiting to see with their 2014 class as to what offers they were planning on making.”

The 6-foot-3 Briscoe has a long list of offers, with Syracuse, Florida, Arizona, St. John’s, Seton Hall and Rutgers all in the mix.

The 6-9 Silva, meantime, holds offers from  Syracuse, Cincinnati, Creighton, Villanova, Rutgers and Seton Hall.

“I’m very excited,” Boff said of Duke’s interest. “It’s great for Chris and Isaiah and great for our program.”

Meantime, N.C. State coach Mark Gottfried was at Roselle Catholic Sunday. He has offered Briscoe and is also recruiting Silva and 2016 guard Asante Gist.

“Mark Gottfried was there today,” Boff said. “They offered Isaiah. There were also there to see Chris and Asante. Asante wil be taking an unofficial there before the end of the school year.”

Gist also told SNY.tv Seton Hall, Rutgers, Penn, Fordham and USF are recruiting him hard.

Miami is also recruiting all three players, Boff said.
