Ed Morrow, Jr., a 6-foot-7, 215-pound forward from Chicago Simeon High School, committed to Nebraska on Monday, a source confirmed to SNY.tv.

He also considered Iowa, among others.

Both of Morrow’s parents attended Nebraska, with Tim Miles using that to drive his recruitment.

“They’re recruiting me the hardest,” Morrow told SNY.tv this summer. “They pressure me the most.”

That earned Miles an important visit. Last year, Nebraska earned a surprise NCAA Tournament berth and used it to build momentum.
Morrow took an unofficial to Lincoln and his parents opened up about their experience at Nebraska. Meanwhile, Miles also pitched the idea of him being a three-four type who could “expand his game.”

Morrow joins point guard Glynn Watson and power forward Michael Jacobson in Nebraska’s 2015 class.

During July, though, his excellent play for Mac Irvin Fire (AAU) caused his recruitment to grow complicated. He listed new offers including Arkansas, Cal, Oklahoma State and Temple.

In the end, he landed where his parents went and figures to be an important building block going forward.

    JOHN CROSBY TO DAYTON

John Crosby, a 6-3, 187-pound point guard from Baltimore and New Hampton (N.H.), committed to Dayton and head coach Archie Miller.

He also considered Indiana, Maryland, Rhode Island, Creighton and Old Dominion, and all except Indiana offered, he said.

“When I went to the visit, I felt comfortable,” Crosby told SNY.tv Monday by phone. “Then I went down there to see a few things to see if it was the right fit for me. And when I got down there all my impressions were awesome. The guys were great, the coaches were great, I got to play with them and I felt comfortable making plays and then I was feeling good. I came right in and I feel like I can help them get back to that elite level, the Elite 8, NCAA Tournament competing.”

“He has been called a combo because of his ability to score but in my opinion is a born point guard,” Baltimore Polytechnic Institute coach Sam Brand, who coached Crosby for four years, told SNY.tv. “He’s a leader on and off the floor who makes his teammates better and will grow on a daily basis with his work ethic.

“His passing and ball handling ability are as good as ANYBODY IN THE COUNTRY. I played and coached Division 1 basketball and he’s the best teammate I’ve ever been around.”

Crosby is Dayton’s fourth commit in 2015, joining power forward Sam Miller, small forward Ryan Mikesell and small forward Xeyrius Williams.
