Georgetown’s Porter Could Play Monday vs. UCLA

Check out this video interview with Georgetown’s Otto Porter which was done before he suffered a mild concussion Nov. 11 against Duquesne.

Porter practiced Friday and could play Monday night against No. 13 UCLA in the Legends Classic at Barclays Center.

“We hope to have Otto back,” Georgetown coach John Thompson III said last week on a conference call. “He has mild concussion symptoms…We’ll see and it’s completely, obviously up to our medical staff.

“Once he’s cleared all the tests and then given the green light he’ll be back out there. We hope to have him out there Monday so we’ll see with that.”

Porter, Jr., a Preseason All-Big East First Team selection and Associated Press honorable mention All-American selection, played only six minutes Nov. 11 against Duquesne after getting hit in the head during the first half and did not return. He was diagnosed with symptoms indicating a mild concussion and did not play against Liberty.

“Obviously, in the world we live in concussions and worrying about them and the study of them and how they have or have not been treated is something that is at the forefront of sports medicine right now,” Thompson III said. “Everyone is hearing more about it, learning more about it and probably more in tune to head injuries and how the athletes respond

“Our medical staff is on top of it and as soon as he’s cleared he’ll be out there.”

Question: If Munnerlyn measured 5'9" at the combine, why does everyone say he's 5'8"?

I'm still hoping we bring Cro back given what's left on the market.  If he's healed, he still is a very solid CB.

Too bad we don't need a NT, getting Wilfork would bug the Pats

btw I'm starting to feel a lot more enthusiasm for the Decker signing....

Oh well, atleast he isn't joining Revis in New England, can you imagine that, and Cromartie actually recovering and being 100%? And we playing that tandem twice a year Oh boy..lol, I wish the Jets can convert him into a free safety, he should definately be productive there.

I hope Bruce Arians walks slow down the hallways or Cro won't be able to keep up without grabbing the guys shirt

They say that just to knock what ever players the jets interested in media always try to find a problem or make one @Brendan

@kniff When the hate is this intense, it has to mean it was a good signing...

@bob Because he's easy, easy like Sunday morning, yeah...

@kniff I just find it odd that the same fan base that had Aaron Glenn beasting out there for so long is so against a short CB.

Dude has a 37" vertical, too, so he's a dynamic lil' guy.

@Brendan @SackDance99Before every game, he used to give Bob Kraft a kiss...just thinking how jealous Booby would be if Big Vince gave Woody a kiss every week

@SackDance99 @kniff  Your Op carries a lot of clout in my book SD... I know you feel good about this one, as well as the Giacomini signing...keeping the faith on my end bro, don't mind me if my knees shake a little during this turbulent time for us!! lol

@Brendan @rstysanchz  He was 5'8" and a half.

Maybe he can dunk and wants it to sound more impressive.

@Pat d  I know. He's not the elite player he once was. The Jets have two NT's that are better than him right now.
