One of the top players in North Carolina, Kinston (N.C.) forward Brandon Ingram is having himself a big year, and the biggest schools in the country have taken notice.
The two schools down the road are thought to be the favorites.
Ingram, a 6-foot-8 junior, is coming off of his first official visit to UNC, and he says that he took a lot away from his time in Chapel Hill.
“Just how they made it feel like a family,” Ingram said. “Everything’s extremely organized too, and they push you so hard in practice. Coach Williams showed me how they run the floor, as well as their ability to push the ball in transition.”
Ingram also says that Duke has been making a push recently.
“They love my versatility, and how I play,” Ingram said. “They said they really want to see me in a Duke uniform.”
Versatility is the name of the game for Duke this year, and Ingram says that they said that they could see him in the same role that Jabari Parker is playing.
“They said they could see me being that type of guy for them,” Ingram said. “They said I have the ability to be a stretch 4 with my ability to shoot.”
A long and lanky forward, Ingram is ranked No.15 in the class of 2015 by ESPN, and No.17 by 247 Sports. He has the ability to stretch the floor with his ability to shoot with range out to 23 feet. Defensively, he can guard on the perimeter, as well as down low with his immense wingspan.
Ingram currently holds offers from North Carolina, Minnesota, N.C. State, Clemson, VCU, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Clemson and Louisville.
