Iona Prep small forward Matt Ryan has torn labrums in both hips and is expected to have surgery in late February or early March, he told SNY.tv.

He will meet with another doctor Feb. 11.

“Hearing it’s a 4-6 month rehab until I’m able to get back on the court,” Ryan told SNY.tv.

The 6-foot-5 Ryan, who runs with the New Heights AAU program, is being recruited by Notre Dame, Duke, North Carolina, Vanderbilt, Stanford and others.

“UNC wants me to visit soon and I’m going to the Duke-BC game next weekend [Feb. 8] at BC,” Ryan said.

The college coaches have told him to “take rehab seriously, stay positive and keep shooting.”
