James Blackmon, Jr., No. 19 on the men’s basketball ESPN 100, will make his college commitment live during Thursday’s ESPNU halftime show of the Louisiana-Monroe at Troy (7:30 p.m.) football game.
Blackmon is ranked in the top 5 for shooting guards in the 2014 class and currently plays at Marion High School (Indiana). He is deciding between Kansas, Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan and Michigan State.
He has taken officials to Michigan, Kentucky and Indiana.
He went to Kentucky earlier this month for “Big Blue Madness” where he was joined by Stanley Johnson, Trey Lyles and Kentucky pledges Tyler Ulis and Karl Towns Jr.
The onetime Indiana pledge visited that school for an official this past weekend and previously told SNY.tv he would consider going back there if he felt it was the right fit.
“A lot of people think just because I decommitted from [Indiana], I’m not looking at them,” he told SNY.tv recently. “But they’re still one of my top five and if it’s the right fit for me I’ll definitely go back because I love that place. I’m from Indiana so that’s always a plus.”
