Huntington Prep guard JaQuan Lyle says he will cut his list soon.
“Here in the next week and a half to two weeks, I’ll probably narrow [my list] and take my other officials ,too,” Lyle told CBSSports.com after he scored 11 points as Huntington beat Prime Prep, 52-48, Saturday at the Hoop Hall Classic.
The former Louisville commit now lists UConn, Memphis, Kansas, Providence, West Virginia, Oregon and Florida State, as well as Oklahoma State, as he told SNY.tv last week.
The Cowboys, who lost to Joel Embiid and Kansas earlier Saturday, will likely lose both Marcus Smart and Markel Brown.
“That’s a good opportunity for me to come in and play right away with them losing Marcus Smart, so that’s just something I’ve got to think about,” he told SNY.tv last week.
Lyle has visited UConn and Memphis, but was unable to visit Kansas recently.
He and Kansas commit Cliff Alexander, who plays Monday at the Hoophall, have talked about playing together.
“If he catches the ball, he dunks it,” Lyle told reporters at the Hoophall “As a point guard, that’s what you want to see. It’s an easy assist. It just makes you look better. Why not want to look god? Cliff makes me look better, and I make him look better.”
Lyle has also told SNY.tv he will decide before the late signing period, which runs April 16-May 21.
