Jeff Newberry of New Mexico Junior College is one of the top junior college point guards in the nation. An Atlanta native, he will be contributing periodically to ZAGSBLOG this year. Here’s his third entry.

    What’s going on, everyone?

Jeff Newberry of New Mexico Junior College here giving you my third player blog.

I recently listed my top five schools which I was considering to all fans who were interested.

Texas Tech, LSU, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and UConn. Just recently, Kansas, Louisville, and San Diego State all extended offers and interest and wanted to get into the mix but I chose to stick with the five choices I started with.

The three schools that have made the cut for my top three are Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and UConn.

Me and Coach Kevin Ollie (UConn) are coming to a close on a visit date in the next two days. The reason for me not visiting yet is because I choose to go home this upcoming weekend to celebrate my 21st birthday.

Me and Travis Ford (Oklahoma State) talk a lot and we are also planning on moving up the date on my visit to Oklahoma State. This is a crazy process and I feel like some of the weight is off of my shoulders with me finally being down to three schools.

My mentor Patrice Days has been here every step of the way for me in guiding me in the right direction by not only giving me good guidance and pointing me in the right direction and keeping me level headed, but also letting me make this decision on my own and supporting me along the way in wherever I choose to go.

I will be in contact with my little sister Diamond Deshields also this weekend to discuss this decision. The wait is coming to an end.

I would hope that whatever University I choose to attend, that if you were really a fan of mine, regardless of what University you attend, that you will support me in whatever decision I make.

You guys stay tuned and on the lookout for visit dates in my decision in the near future. *I Silence All Critics*
