Jermaine Lawrence has joined a growing list of elite 2013 recruits who will sign in the spring.
“This is the most important decision he will make in his life to this point so it’s important that he takes his time with the process and feels completely ready to play for that coach and in that program,” his high school coach, Jason Hasson, told SNY.tv Monday.
“Right now, he’s continuing to develop relations with the coaching staffs and learning and studying rosters and styles of play.”
The Kentucky Rivals site first reported Lawrence’s decision to sign late.
The 6-foot-10 Pope John forward is down to seven schools.
“My Final Top 7 in no specific order Cincinnati, Kansas, Kentucky, StJohns, Syracuse, UCLA, UNLV,” he Tweeted.
Rutgers and Florida, which had been involved early, are out.
Lawrence, a Queens kid now playing at Pope John in Sparta, N.J., was invited to the Under Armour Elite 24 game but was unable to play due an ankle injury.
No visits are currently planned.
