Josh Martin hopes to make a college decision next week.

The 6-foot-8, 230-pound power forward out of Bothell (WA) will take his last official visit to Pittsburgh beginning Thursday and then will decide between Pitt, Minnesota and Florida State.

“I really hope I can make my decision the week after my visit,’ Martin told SNY.tv Monday.

“Really I want to be able to evaluate the week after all my visits, talk about the good and the bad and then make a decision on where I want to go.”

Martin visited Minnesota this past weekend and enjoyed it.

“It went really well, I enjoyed it,” Martin said. “I got to know more about the program and about how I fit and it was really beneficial.”

He previously visited Florida State and enjoyed that as well.

“I liked how Coach [Leonard] Hamilton carries himself,” he said. “I liked the fact that he’s going to help me develop and to be the best player I can be. He told me I’m going to be playing a position I want to play. I don’t want to be a guy that’s just an outside guy or an inside guy. I want to do it all and he told me he would help me do that.

“I like the coaching staff. They are people you can be around and talk to. They play a style of ball that I like, defense-oriented and up-tempo.”

As for Pitt, he leaves Thursday and will be there for Midnight Madness and a football game — along with Beaver Falls (Pa.) small forward Sheldon Jeter.

“I don’t know a lot,” Martin said of Pitt. “I do know that they play an aggressive kind of hard-nosed, blue-collar kind of ball. The kind of person that I am, not just hooper, I think I would fit in with that system. Coach [Jamie] Dixon is a winner. He’s helped a lot of guys progress to that next level and I definitely like that aspect, too.

“I’m going during Midnight Madness so that should be fun.”

And after that visit, Martin expects to pull the trigger relatively soon.
