Kansas is the latest school to offer Class of 2015 point guard Justin Simon after assistant Kurtis Townsend watched him play Tuesday night.
“An offer like that would mean a lot,” Simon told SNY.tv Monday night. “Just a program like that with that atmosphere and that pedigree, if they offer, it would be amazing.”
Louisville offered earlier this week.
“It’s really big for me,” the 6-foot-4 guard from Temecula Valley (Ca.) said. “This recruiting process is something that has been a dream come true for me.”
Simon says that while he has been receiving significant interest from many high-major schools, he will not look to narrow his list anytime soon.
“This recruitment process is something you only really go through once,” Simon said. “My family and I have been watching a lot of college basketball, we’re all really enjoying this right now. We’re gonna look at teams very closely.”
Simon, currently ranked No.16 in the nation in the new Scout rankings, has seen his stock rise tenfold since the summer when he improved his jump shot, opening up the court for his superior ability to take smaller guards off of the bounce. A long lead guard, Simon looks to get everyone involved, but can also get his own shot at will.
“At the end of the day, its every kid’s dream to get noticed,” Simon said. “I’ve been working really hard and I’m pushing myself the hardest I can everyday. I’m trying to never be satisfied and to always stay hungry.”
Simon currently holds offers from Kansas, Arizona, Louisville, San Diego State, UCLA, USC, Arizona State, Cal, Boston College, Creighton, New Mexico, Oregon, Colorado.
