Kentucky is the latest high-profile program to offer Jarred Vanderbilt, a 6-foot-8 2017 small forward from Bellaire (TX) Victory Prep.

4_3726137He holds offers from Kansas, Texas, Baylor, Creighton and Houston, among others, according to 247Sports.com.

“Jarred Vanderbilt is an extremely versatile player at 6-9,” Houston Hoops coach Tim Schumacher told SNY.tv. “He handles like a guard and is a tremendous athlete. He is a great rebounder and can really pass the basketball. He is one of the top players in the the country in the Class of 2017.”

Vanderbilt won a gold medal with the USA U16 team earlier this summer alongside Wendell Carter Jr. and Gary Trent Jr., who have discussed a potential package at Duke, among other programs.

Edrice “Bam” Adebayo also picked up a Kentucky offer after coach John Calipari watched him play against Rawle Alkins at the adidas Uprising All-American Camp on Long Island during the second live period.

“I guess it means I’m a good player,” the 6-10 Adebayo told SNY.tv that night.

Adebayo seems impressed with what Kentucky has to offer.

“Their fan base is incredible,” he said. “I like the way they play, fast, they go through their bigs. They just play hard basketball.”

Asked if he sees himself as a one-and-done type of player, he said, “I think it’s more a feeling of you feel it in your heart kind of thing.”

All the North Carolina schools — North Carolina, Duke, N.C. State and Wake Forest — are also involved, as well as some other SEC schools. He plans to cut his list soon.

He has been linked to a potential package at N.C. State involving 2016 point guard Dennis Smith Jr., who also holds a Kentucky offer and has a final six.

Adebayo said he’s visited ECU, Memphis, Wake Forest, North Carolina, N.C. State, Duke and Virginia.

He would like to see more, too.

“I would love to experience every college I go to,” he said.
