Roselle (N.J.) Catholic point guard Isaiah Briscoe picked up a Kentucky offer during his official visit.

“We are really excited for Isaiah that Kentucky has offered him a scholarship,” Roselle Catholic coach Dave Boff told SNY.tv. “They have done a great job developing players over the years and I’m sure they would do the same for him. I think Isaiah would fit in well in their system and his desire to improve would fit in with how they work with their players.”
After his recent home visit with Kentucky coach John Calipari, the 6-foot-3 Briscoe said he might add an offer on his visit.
“He said he loves guards, he needs guards and the people that he puts in the NBA and what they’re doing in the NBA is shocking,” Briscoe told SNY.tv. “It’s just a blessing”
Earlier Monday, Calipari said at a luncheon in Louisville that his former players now in the NBA make more than $820 million in salaries, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal.
With shoe contracts and endorsement deals, the number would grow to $1 billion.
Calipari gave Briscoe similar figures during their meeting and it made quite an impression.
“[Calipari] said his job is to get people in the NBA, ultimately that’s everybody’s goal is to get to the NBA,” Briscoe said. “Last year, he had six people [who could go] in the first round, this year he had eight. And it’s just like the lineage and the steps. This wave go to the NBA from Kentucky, and then the next wave goes. And that’s something I want to be a part of. I want to be a part of those waves that go to the NBA, where the starting five and two people coming off the bench are saying, ‘We’re now in the NBA.’ Every day at practice you’re going against [McDonald’s All-Americans].”
Briscoe also visited reigning NCAA champion UConn this weekend and also has official visits slated to Missouri Oct. 10 and St. John’s Oct. 17.
