“Tyus is a top priority for them,” Gill coach Mergin Sina told SNY.tv after the visit. “He thinks Tyus can play multiple positions in his system and he loves Tyus’s length and athleticism.”

The 6-foot-5 Battle visited Louisville this past summer unofficially during a trip in which he picked up offers from both Louisville and Kentucky.

“Louisville’s a really, really great place,” Tyus told SNY.tv in June. “I’m really happy about that, too. Coach Pitino’s a really good guy. The facilities are amazing at both places.”

Villanova and Virginia are due in to see Battle Thursday, while Kentucky’s John Calipari is expected Friday.

Battle won a gold medal in August with the USA U17 team at the FIBA World Championships in Dubai, and also led Team Scan to the semifinals of the Peach Jam in July.

He has visits slated for Duke and Kentucky in October.
