Mitch McGary has declared for the NBA Draft after failing a drug test, Yahoo! Sports reported.

Now the question is, Where will he be drafted?

McGary’s Draft stock was sky-high during and after Michigan’s run to the 2013 NCAA championship game, when he was projected as high as No. 9 in the 2014 Draft by DraftExpress.com.

But his stock fell after he underwent back surgery in January and he’s now listed at No. 31 on DraftExpress.

“It’s all about his back and the surgery that was performed,” one veteran NBA scout told SNY.tv. “The drug issue is something the NBA has protocols in place about. It comes down to doctors of each team and their recommendation about him physically Skillwise he is a big that can make plays from the high post as well as in the low post. He brings a toughness to the game. He should be a solid backup in the NBA. He’s probably a late-first rounder if the back issues turn out to be minor moving forward.”
