Ohio State Latest to Offer Malachi Richardson

Ohio State is the latest big-time program to offer a scholarship to Malachi Richardson, the 6-foot-6 wing out of Roselle (N.J.) Catholic.

“We are very happy for Malachi and proud that he has recieved another high-major offer from a fantastic univerity and program,” RC coach Dave Boff told SNY.tv “Ohio State is one of the premier programs in the country.”

Buckeyes coach Thad Matta watched Richardson this past weekend when RC played against Walnut Hills (OH) in the Flyin’ to the Hoop event in Dayton, Ohio.

“Coach Matta and two assistants were able to come see us play when we were at the Flyin’ to the Hoop Event in Dayton this past weekend,” Boff said. “They really liked the way he passed and shot the ball. He is really shooting it well both off the catch and off the dribble and I think the schools have been impressed with those areas of his game. OSU coaches commented that they didnt realize he was such a good passer.”

Richardson also holds offers from Indiana, Cincinnati, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Miami and James Madison, with interest from North Carolina, Syracuse and others.
