Jahlil Okafor, the No. 1 prospect in the Class of 2014, has set his second official visit and it coincides with the annual Kentucky alumni game.
“My second official visit will be to Kentucky, on September 9th,” the 6-foot-10 Okafor Tweeted.
That weekend Kentucky hosts its alumni game, which is slated to include a matchup between members of the Class of 2010 (John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, etc.) and the Class of 2012 (Anthony Davis, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, etc.).
As previously reported here, 2015 wing Derrick Jones will also visit that weekend, unofficially.
Okafor’s AAU coach, Mike Irvin, recently told the Chicago Sun-Times he expected that both Okafor and Minnesota point guard Tyus Jones would land together at Duke.
Both players will take an official to Baylor later this month, where Jones has a family connection on staff.
Jones has yet to announce plans to visit Kentucky but he said in his USA Today blog that he will make his decision in November.
“I’ve decided that I want to go ahead and get my decision out of the way in November,” Jones wrote. “That’s always been a goal of mine because I don’t want it hanging over my head my whole senior year. I want to be able to focus on my last season and have fun. I don’t want that stress.”
