Okafor to Attend Duke-Kansas Game in Chicago

Jahlil Okafor will be in attendance Tuesday night when his two top suitors, Duke and Kansas, meet in the Champions Classic at the United Center.

“Going to the Kansas vs Duke game on Tuesday. Can not wait!” he Tweeted.

There is no indication that Okafor will make a decision based on who wins the game, but, ironically, the NCAA early signing period starts the following day and runs Nov. 13-20.

The Champions Classic features a doubleheader in which No. 4 Duke meets No. 5 Kansas and No. 1 Kentucky faces No. 2 Michigan State.

At this point, the 6-foot-10 Okafor is the top uncommitted prospect in the Class of 2014, according to this list I compiled for SheridanHoops.com.

Okafor and 6-foot-2 Apple Valley (MN) point guard Tyus Jones are expected to land at the same college, with Duke and Kansas leading the way.

They visited Duke last weekend on an official and despite whispers that Okafor wasn’t thrilled with the visit, he said he remains undecided.

“To all these ‘sources’ saying they know where I’m going to school because someone ‘close’ to me told them. Quit the lies. I DONT KNOW YET,” he Tweeted.

Jones has said he wants to get it over with by the early signing period.

“I think we’ll all feel good when it’s time to commit,” he told SNY.tv in August.
