4_947897Payton Pritchard, a 6-foot-2 2016 point guard from West Linn (OR), has decommitted from Oklahoma, according to ESPN.com.

“He just wants to be 100 percent sure,” his father Terry, who played tight end for the Oklahoma football team told ESPN.com. “He’s a young kid, and we want him to [be] 100 percent comfortable. He’s been thinking about it for two or three weeks. And if he was going to do it, he should probably do it before the July period.”

Pritchard averaged 22.4 points and 5.0 assists with Team Fast on the Adidas circuit.

The No. 8 point guard in the Class of 2016 according to 247Sports.com, Pritchard initially chose the Sooners over Wisconsin, Oregon, Gonzaga and Villanova.
