Philly Vaux Roberts point guard Rysheed Jordan is down to three schools and could pull the trigger following a weekend visit to UCLA.
He is also considering St. John’s and hometown Temple.
“When I come back, I’m going to give a verbal commitment to one of those schools,” the 6-foot-3 Jordan told the Philly Inquirer.
Temple is the local school and is only about 10 blocks from his house.
“I like the style of play at Temple, how they get up and down the floor,” Jordan said.
St. John’s is a couple of hours away and he has been a primary target of head coach Steve Lavin, along with New Jersey forward Jermaine Lawrence.
“In Philly, everybody’s asleep,” he said. “In New York, that’s when everybody first starts coming out.”
The 6-10 Lawrence, meantime, postponed a weekend visit to Cincinnati after taking an official to UNLV last weekend. A makeup date is to be determined.
UCLA will be in need of a point guard going forward, and remains the other option for Jordan.
Rutgers, Maryland and Xavier are no longer under consideration.
