Rysheed Jordan to Cut List to Five

The early signing period came and went without Philly Vaux Roberts guard Rysheed Jordan signing a Letter of Intent.

“Yeah, hes’ s going to sign in the spring,” his high school coach, Jamie Ross, told SNY.tv Friday.

Ross said the 6-foot-4 Jordan planned to narrow his list to five soon. In October, Jordan announced that he had cut his list to seven: Temple, St. John’s, Syracuse, Rutgers, Xavier, Alabama and UCLA.

Syracuse has since signed two guards, point guard Tyler Ennis of St. Benedict’s Prep and shooting guard Ron Patterson of Brewster (N.H.) Academy, making it unlikely they would need another guard in this class.

Those close to Jordan have long said that he will likely remain in the Northeast for college, making Temple and St. John’s, and perhaps Rutgers, the most plausible options.

“He still hasn’t narrowed down the list as of yet,” Ross said. “He will probably do it toward it the end of this week or probably the beginning of next week. He will cut it down to five.

“He will take his visits in the spring.”

Wherever he lands, he could make a major impact going forward.

“Rysheed Jordan could be a game-changer,” longtime New York recruiting expert Tom Konchalski previously told SNY.tv. “He’s an explosive athlete. In terms of running a halfcourt offense, he’s gotta make certain improvements. But he’s a one-man fast-break. He plays like he’s shot out of a cannon,  Evel Knievel without the cycle. He really pushes the pace, forces the pace in the game. Halfcourt he looks to attack the basket. He has great hands and great feet and he can be an outstanding, outstanding player.”
