COLUMBIA, S.C. — Everyone who follows basketball knows who Raymond Felton is.

But few know that the Knicks point guard has a nephew who’s pretty good at ball, too.

Jalek Felton exploded onto the scene this weekend at the Chick Fil A Classic when he averaged 24.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game in a win over Lower Richland and losses to Luella (GA) and Aquinas (GA).

The 6-foot-4 freshman point guard out of Mullins (S.C.) has turned the biggest heads in the country, gaining interest from UNC and Kansas among many others.

“North Carolina, Kansas, Kentucky, South Carolina, Wichita State and Northwestern have been in touch,” Felton told “North Carolina and Kansas have been in touch the most, though.”

Playing at big events like the Chick-Fil-A Classic are big for the youngster, who is gaining more and more confidence playing well at the national level.

“It really helps me get tougher to play with my own class, AAU-wise during the summer,” Felton  said. “It just helps me become a better basketball player.”

When asked if he feels any pressure to follow in his uncle’s footsteps to attend UNC, he says no

“Not really, I think I can handle it,” Felton said.

But when he was asked if UNC would be tough to beat when it is time to make a choice, his answer was definitive.

“Oh yeah.”
