Seton Hall’s Edwin Out at Least a Week With Sprained Ankle

Seton Hall star Fuquan Edwin sprained his right ankle in Thursday’s 92-81 win over LIU-Brooklyn and will be out at least a week.

Seton Hall visits in-state rival Rutgers on Sunday night.

“Fuquan Edwin’s going to be out at least a week or two…we’re giving him X-rays tomorrow,” Pirates coach Kevin Willard said post-game, according to Jaden Daley.

He added: “You never like to have injuries, but to have it happen December 5th is better than when it happened last year.”

Edwin, who leads the Pirates in scoring at 15.3 points per game, Tweeted: “Thanks a lot everyone, I will try my best with treatment to make this injury a speedy one #Shumbb.”

Seton Hall is already without forward Patrik Auda, who reinjured the broken foot he suffered last season.

Edwin’s absence could mean more playing time for Haralds Karlis.

“It changes dramatically,” Willard said. “I’ve got to get Haralds in there to where he can play better.”

Willard also said that junior guard Hakeem Harris would be leaving the program.

“More than likely Hakeem will be looking for future educational opportunities. I think that’s the correct way to put it,” Willard said, according to Jerry Carino.
