Stephane Manga to Seton Hall

Seton Hall has landed a commitment from 6-foot-6 forward Stephane Manga of Monroe (N.Y.) College.

Oklahoma State offered and Kansas State, Arizona State, Xavier and Minnesota were also interested.

“Yeah, I did [commit],” the 6-foot-6, 225-pound Manga told “I’ve known the coaching staff for a while now and I thought it was the best option for me.”

A native of Orleans, France, Manga averaged 14.9 points and 5.7 rebounds this season at Monroe. He will have two years of eligibility left.

He said associate head coach Shaheen Holloway told him he could play the three, with Fuquan Edwin spending time at the two. Manga said he and Edwin have become friends.

“I will be a player that plays defense, brings scoring ability, is tough and a team player,” Manga said.

“He’s going to be a great open-floor player, can finish around the rim,” Monroe coach Jeff Brustad told “He’s a solid ball-defender. He can guard, he can move his feet. He’s a good fit for them.

“They need a guy who can guard and make some plays. He can play in the Big East. and he’ll compete for playing team.”

Monroe, which also produced St. John’s players Orlando Sanchez and Marco Bourgault, went 24-8 this season, losing to ASA in the Regional Tournament.
