The recruitment of Las Vegas High School 2015 small forward Ray Smith is heating up, and several of the nation’s top programs watched him this past weekend at the Adidas stop in Duncanville, Texas.
“I think there’s going to be a few more offers for Ray,” Dream Vision director Clay Williams told SNY.tv Tuesday. “Ray is now being recruited by all the top guns.”
Still, Williams said several schools were working the hardest for the 6-foot-7 Smith, the No. 6-ranked small forward in the Class of 2015 by 247 Sports.
“I would say the schools that are recruiting him the hardest are UCLA, Arizona and Louisville,” Williams said. “Those three are recruiting him the hardest.”
Duke and Kansas also watched Smith.
Williams said Duke’s head man watched Dream Vision even knowing that big man Chase Jeter was out with bruised knee bone.
“Mike Krzyzewski knew that Chase wasn’t playing but he was still there,” he said.
Williams said Smith was in no hurry to cut his list of schools and will go through the process this summer.
“A lot of these schools are new to Ray but he made a pretty big splash in Dallas,” Williams said.
