Trevon Bluiett Visits Butler, Michigan State; Xavier Up Next

Indianapolis Park Tudor small forward Trevon BluiettĀ has visited Butler and Michigan State in the past several days, and plans to get out to Xavier this week as well.

The 6-foot-5 senior shooting guard recently decommitted from UCLA and is now considering Butler, Michigan State, Xavier and Memphis.

He and his father, Rey, visited Butler Saturday for a practice.

“It was good, it was good to see [coach] Brandon [Miller] and watch him run a practice,” Rey told SNY.tv Monday. “We wanted to go over there and get a feel.”

Bluiett has visited Butler several times before.

“They think he can really help them and Butler can help him as well,” Rey said. “Just being the neighborhood guy, local hero. So they stand as they always have, how he can come and help with scoring right away. That hasn’t changed even with Brandon taking over.”

Last week, Blueitt visited MSU from Wednesday-Friday.

“It was good to watch them guys go through practice,” Rey said. “Before and after practice Trevon got to talk to a couple players. It was good to see the insides of a program.”

He added: “[Coach Tom Izzo] said Trevon will come there right away from Day One being a big part of what they do. So that’s always encouraging, hearing that from the head man. They have an idea of how he fits into what they’re trying to do.”

Xavier head coach Chris Mack is do in for a home visit on Tuesday, and Bluiett could also visit campus then.

“We may get up there tomorrow,” Rey said. “I’m waiting to see if Trevon has any time to get out of school early and see what works best.”

If not Tuesday he might go Wednesday.

“We do want to get up there again in the next day or two and get to a practice and a get a feel,” Rey said.

They also recently visited Memphis.

“Memphis was great, man,” he said. “Just high-level guys, high-energy. Set up for success down there. It’s just about winning basketball. It was real good.”

Rey said a decision could come soon.

“I don’t see it going longer than two weeks,” he said “He wants to get it done and have a home. We’ll be set in a week or two.”
