The state of Florida just added another talented player to its prep resume.

Lamonte’ Turner announced on Wednesday that he will be transferring to Arlington Country Day, joining Florida commit Brandone Francis and Dante Buford in Jacksonville.

“I really wanted to play a national schedule,” Turner told SNY.tv on Wednesday afternoon. “I also looked at St. Benedict’s, as well as Huntington Prep, but felt that Arlington Country Day was the best choice for me.”

The 6-foot-2, 175 pound point guard out of Huntsville (AL) will also be reclassifying to the class of 2016, giving him another year to boost his resume for college.

“I really felt like it would help my recruitment a lot,” Turner said. “It would give me an extra year to focus on my grades, as well as basketball.”

One of the best shooters in the country, Turner played AAU summer basketball for Alabama Challenge with Devin Booker for part of the summer, and ATL Xpress with Danjel Purifoy for the other part, including the National Championships in Orlando. He will give ACD instant offense from the point guard position.

He currently holds interest from Louisville, Clemson, Virginia Tech, N.C. State, Georgia, Alabama, Missississippi, Georgia and Kentucky, and has offers from Auburn, Wichita State, and a couple others.
