USC, Penn State and Wagner all picked up commitments on Tuesday.
USC landed a pledge from 6-foot-8 2015 Lawndale (Calif.) power forward Chimezie Metu, who committed to Scout.com in the above video.
Metu also considered Harvard, Arizona State, Creighton and Cal.
“USC was just the best fit for me,” Metu told Scout.com.
Metu is coach Andy Enfield’s first commit in the Class of 2015.
“They just want me to come in and do what I’m best at, make plays and be the person that they recruited,” Metu said.
PENN STATE ADDS SHOOTER
Penn State added 6-6 sharpshooter Deividas Zemgulis of St. Mary’s Ryken (MD).
“Just made my decision to be a part of Penn State family! #WeAre #PennState #Big10 #NittanyLion #StriveForGreatness,” he Tweeted.
“He has a very high skillset,” St. Mary’s coach Dave Tallman said. “He made 48 3’s in a row during a recent workout drill. He’s a strong defender who is very tough. He averaged a double-double in the WCAC (the best league in the country). He’s a 3.9 student. He wakes up at 4:30 each morning to lift and workout before school. He’s a very high character young man with a focus to be the best.”
Along with 6-9 Philadelphia center, Mike Watkins, Penn State now has two commits for 2015.
WAGNER ADDS JUCO WING
Wagner received a pledge from Stedman Allen, a 6-6 wing from Labette (KS) Community College following an official visit to campus.
A Bronx native, Allen is a high-motor athlete who averaged 18.1 points and 7.3 rebounds last season.
“I chose Wagner because I felt like it is the best fit for me academically and basketball-wise,” Allen told SNY.tv. “It’s not too far from home and not to close, which means my family can watch me play in the next two years.
“I got along well with all of the coaching staff and it just felt like home. I just feel like I can be an impact player. I can score in different ways and rebound. I also bring toughness.”
Wagner now has five pledges for 2015.
