Bruce Brown, a powerfully built 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Vermont Academy, is “50-50” on reclassing to 2015 from 2016, a source close to the situation confirmed to SNY.tv.

Evan Daniels of Scout first reported the news on Twitter.

Brown is one of several high-profile 2016 kids considering declassing, with 7-footer Thon Maker and 6-5 guard Jamal Murray of Orangeville Prep in Ontario also in that group.

Brown is the No. 49 player in the Class of 2016 according to 247Sports composite ranking.

Brown recently told SNY.tv he held offers from Indiana, Wake Forest, Boston College, Miami, Arizona State, Auburn, and Manhattan, among others.

“Arizona, UCLA, UConn, and Michigan have all shown interest,” Brown recently told SNY.tv.

The Connecticut native was able to visit UConn for Midnight Madness and said, “I like UConn a lot, I like Kevin Ollie’s system,”

Jones said that his mom will be key in helping him pick a school and while location is not essential.

“If she can get out to games that would be good,” he said.

Brown and his teammates will compete this weekend in the Hoophall Classic, meeting St. Thomas More (CT) at 6:30pm ET on Sunday.
