  • Whitehead, McCullough, Briscoe to Headline Sharette Dixon

    Seton Hall pledge Isaiah Whitehead, Syracuse commit Chris McCullough and uncommitted guard Isaiah Briscoe will headline the 2013 Sharette Dixon Classic Oct. 19 at the Gauchos Gym in The Bronx.

    This annual event is being organized in memory of Sharette Dixon, wife of Minnesota assistant Kimani Young and mother of Kamaal Young (11), Khaliq Young (9) and Salimah Young (7). Proceeds from the event will support a family education fund that has been established for the three children.

    The event will feature a sophomore game (6 p.m.) and an upperclassmen game (8 p.m.).

    Also expected are Cheick Diallo, Malachi Richardson, Rawle Alkins, Kassoum Yakwe and Tyus Battle.

    Alums of the event include Kyrie Irving, Kyle Anderson, JayVaughn Pinkston, Tyler Ennis, Omar Calhoun, Fuquan Edwin and Chris Obekpa.
