Andrew Wiggins, Joel Embiid and Jabari Parker — all potential No. 1 picks in next month’s NBA Draft — have chosen to skip this week’s Chicago pre-draft combine, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reported.
Wojnarowski called the bailing of the top three picks in the draft “unprecedented.”
While Wiggins and Parker are healthy, the 7-foot Embiid has been recovering from a stress fracture in his back that kept him out of games after March 1.
Now Embiid — and the others — will have individual physicals with each team they work out with.
“Every team’s doctors will determine just how bad his injury is long term,” one NBA scout previously told SNY.tv.
“Not a big deal that neither Parker or Wiggins is showing up,” the scout added.
Australian guard Dante Exum, projected as the No. 4 pick in the Draft behind the Wiggins, Parker Embiid by DraftExpress.com, is expected to be in Chicago and should be the most intriguing prospect because he didn’t play college or high school ball in the U.S.
