In news that shouldn’t be considered shocking to anyone, Mac Irvin Fire coach Mike Irvin says he thinks Tyus Jones and Jahlil Okafor will both end up at Duke.
“In my mind, Duke has a really good chance,” Irvin told the Chicago Sun-Times. “Coach K has done a really great job recruiting him [Okafor].”
He added: “I believe there is a great chance that Tyus will go to Duke. If so, Jahlil and Tyus will probably be going to school together.”
Jones and Okafor have repeatedly said they will attend college together, with Duke long considered the frontrunner.
Kentucky, Kansas, Michigan State, Ohio State and Baylor are also in the mix for both.
Justise Winslow, a 6-6 wing from Houston St. John’s, may or may not also join Jones and Okafor in college. He recently picked up a Kentucky offer, making it theoretically possible all three could land in Lexington.
Still, Winslow could also end up going his own way.
“It would be great for that to happen. But I’m on a different path, so are Jahlil and Tyus,” Winslow recently told SNY.tv. “But if all of those pieces fall together, that would be great. It’s something that we are talking about, but I’m not 100 percent on it like they are.”
