Bill Self Checks in on Daniels, Traylor; Ajayi to Wyoming

Kansas coach Bill Self was at IMG Academies in Bradenton, Fla., Wednesday to watch both DeAndre Daniels and Jamari Traylor, according to head coach Andy Borman.

Kansas is involved with both players.

Daniels’ had a death in the family, however, and he will be unable to play in Friday’s Derby Festival in Louisville, and will put his recruitment on the back burner for now, sources said.

He recently visited Duke, which learned that Alex Murphy will come to the school this fall instead of 2012. It remains unclear if Murphy will redshirt next season, or how his situation might affect Daniels’ situation.

Traylor is also considering Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and St. John’s.

AJAYI TO WYOMING

Lekan Ajayi, a 6-11 big man from Quality Education (N.C.), signed his Letter of Intent Wednesday with Wyoming.

“I narrowed it down to LMU and Wyoming,” Ajayi, originally from Lagos, Nigeria, said by phone.

“It’s a great situation because they have a great business management course and, plus, as a freshman I get to play a lot to help them win a championship.”

Ajayi teamed with St. John’s signee Sir’Dominic Pointer at Quality Education and initially considered Seton Hall, Oklahoma State, Wake Forest and others before Wyoming came in late.
